Holders of the Atlassian Certified designations are respected for their Atlassian skills and the value they bring to organizations and teams. They demonstrate expertise at the highest level. There’s no better way to show proficiency across Atlassian solutions than through these highly regarded designations.

Paths

Currently, there are three paths to earn a designation:

  • Atlassian Certified Administration Expert - designation for candidates who have earned multiple Atlassian Professional certifications (ACP)

  • Atlassian Certified Agile DevOps Specialist - designation for candidates who have earned multiple certifications that relate to agile DevOps practices using Atlassian solutions

  • Atlassian Certified ITSM Specialist - designation for candidates who have earned multiple certifications that relate to ITSM practices using Atlassian solutions

Earning and maintaining your designation

You will be granted the designation as soon as you meet all the requirements.

You will continue to hold the designation you keep all your underlying certifications in active status.

If a certification becomes suspended, make sure to renew it before the suspension date. Learn more about the renewal process at How to maintain your certification.

Requirements

Earn each designation by passing a set of specific certification exams.

Atlassian Certified Administration Expert

Earn and maintain any four of these:

  • ACP-JA Jira Admin for Data Center

  • ACP-JCA Jira Admin for Cloud

  • ACP-MJSPC Jira Service Management Project Admin

  • ACP-OA Org Admin

  • ACP-MJDP Jira Project Admin for Data Center

  • ACP-MJCP Jira Project Admin for Cloud

Atlassian Certified Agile DevOps Specialist

Earn and maintain all four of these; more certifications for this category are coming in the future:

  • ACA-JSWE Jira Essentials

  • ACA-JSWBC Board Configuration

  • ACA-ACF Cloud Foundations

  • ACA-CONFE Confluence Essentials

Atlassian Certified ITSM Specialist

Earn and maintain all four of these; more certifications for this category are coming in the future:

  • ACA-ITSMF ITSM with JSM Foundations

FAQs

  • After earning a designation, will I need to take additional steps to activate it? No, once you have earned the requisite certifications, we’ll automatically add the designation to your profile.

  • How will I know when I have earned a designation? You will receive an email from CM Connect, formerly known as CertMetrics.

  • If one of my certifications suspends, will the designation be reinstated once I renew the certification? Yes, once the requirements are met, the designation will be reinstated.

  • What are the start and end dates for a designation? The designation will be granted on the date that the final required certification is earned. It will expire on the date that the first required certification is suspended (a.k.a. inactive date).

Here’s an example of how a candidate could earn the Atlassian Certified Agile DevOps Specialist designation:

The designation start date would be August 1, 2024, the date that the ACA-CONFE was earned. The expiration date for the designation would be February 1, 2026, the date that the ACA-JWSE becomes suspended.

To maintain the designation, the candidate would need to renew the ACA-JSWE before February 1, 2026.

As a reminder, once an individual has earned enough CE units to renew a certification, all of the same type of certifications (ACP or ACA) will also renew. So after the first renewal cycle, all the certifications in this example would have the same inactive and expiration dates.
